I recently had the good fortune(photographing newborns is always good fortune!) to photograph this adorable baby boy at 2 1/2 weeks old. What a precious new little one for this growing family. He was the sweetest little guy and I definitely enjoyed my short bit of time with him. Thanks for bringing him in, Mom and Dad!
Wow, it’s been way too long since I’ve updated! I have been busily preparing for the holidays and spending some much enjoyed (and needed) time with my family.
Do you ever get the feeling that Christmas just kind of sneaks up on you? No matter how much I tell myself it’s coming, once December hits I can’t help but wonder whatever happened to November. It’s like the lost month. I hope that you each are enjoying the holiday season with your loved ones. Take time to relax and savor it. 
I did get a chance to shoot something different recently and wanted to share. Macro photography is something totally new for me, but I found myself thoroughly enjoying it and can’t wait to get out and try some other things with it.

Last week I was able to photograph some of my very favorite people (that aren’t my own kids!). My wonderful best friend brought her family in for some christmas photos. These kids have the most big beautiful blue eyes, I swear! I know they’ve been anxiously waiting to see if this session was fruitful (yup, I was a blog slacker), so here they are…..

Three beautiful sisters in the studio this week. We had hoped to do this session in the park, but in October, suitable weather can definitely be hit or miss. This day was a miss! We’ve had some really cold days lately. I have turned on the fireplace a few times but haven’t brought myself to using the furnace yet. That looks like it’ll come soon enough! I have put away the flip flops though. Wow, does it feel weird to wear socks after a log summer without them. Hope you each enjoy a wonderful weekend. Happy Halloween!

If there was possibly any doubt (could there have been???) that summer has exited the building, let your doubt rest. I assure, what’s out there is anything but warm and cozy! Yesterday, I had a session with a senior down at the lakefront, and it was so cold and windy, we never moved far enough away from the beach house to actually incorporate the beach or the lake. We hung in there for about 1/2 hour before we gave in to our chill and got out of there! Brrr!
I’m glad that she stuck it out with me for as long as we did manage, and you can’t even see the goosebumps (which we both had)! She was a great sport and had the most gorgeous smile! Who really needs sunshine with a radiant smile like this? :)

Wow, I’m so excited! A lot of work and long hours have finally come together to launch the new look for Piper Dellan Photography. I may find myself stalking my own site, just because I’m so jolly that its complete! (Okay, that may be a little bit geeky, but, well, I just don’t care! I told you I was excited.)
Along with the great new look have come a few much needed changes. First, if you are a subscriber to the old Piper Dellan Photography Blog, I recommend you scroll to the bottom of this page and update your subscription so you won’t be missing out on any new updates as I will no longer be adding posts to the old site. I did take the time to cart over all the posts located at the old blog and moved them over here. So, you will still be able to access all of that information here on the new blog.
Another change is that all client forms and guides will now be able to be viewed online at www.piperdellanphotography.com. I believe this new set up will prove to be convenient for you (the client) and for me. All of these forms can be found by clicking the Welcome tab in the website. I have chosen to password protect these guides and each new client will be given the password to access all of this helpful information.
The biggest change you may notice is in the Investment section of the website. I have spent many hours developing a pricing plan that I feel confident in. Providing my clients with exceptional portraits, products and service has always been my top priority. I have found that in order to continue providing you these things I needed to make some adjustments. Sacrificing quality was never an option, so instead prices needed to be adjusted. I hope you will understand and appreciate the changes that were made. I look forward to continuing relationships with past clients and am equally excited to work with new ones!
When I say I have the greatest clients, it isn’t just for the sake of flattery. I REALLY do have the greatest clients. I count working with each of you and your children, a blessing.

This young lady was also in need of some images taken with a piano. What I love most about taking portraits of seniors at the piano is being able to enjoy hearing them play. I’ve gotten to witness some amazing talent and she is no exception.

We went up to a local park for this seniors session and were not disappointed. The colors were gorgeous and the weather was beautiful. We weren’t the only ones taking advantage of the awesome colors and comfortable warmth. The park was totally hopping with families out for a last picnic or stroll before the temperature drops and photographers, both hobbyist and professional, were everywhere. At one location we had to wait in line for our turn (It was worth the wait!).

I can’t seem to get enough of these fab 2009 seniors. They’re gorgeous and better yet, they do just what I ask!
Today brought another such session and along with it, the rain. We weren’t to be deterred though. He rushed to get ready and came about 4 hours early in hopes of beating the rain. All was well and the drops started falling as we got our last shots!
