Wow, have these sweet little girls grown! I first met Olivia and Emma last August and had the pleasure again of spending some time with them yesterday afternoon. Photographing one nine month old baby can be challenging. Photographing two seems nothing short of a miracle! These little girls had much exploring to do and had no time to stop for a photo session. Snacks they’d stop for… primping and preening, not so much. My favorite part of the afternoon was witnessing these two sisters interact together.

They can’t help but make you smile…

Enjoy!

I have the greatest job in the world.
No, really, I do. You may think your job rocks, but I just know I have you beat! I can’t imagine anyone loving what they do more than me. Yesterday was just another one of those awesome examples of why.
There was a little apprehension when I got up yesterday morning due to the rain we’ve been blessed with lately, but God came through and they skies cleared (I’d like to think, just for us, but I sure hope you all got to get out enjoy the gorgeous afternoon it turned into too)! I met senior, Alyse and her mom out at Petrifying Springs and spent a fabulous couple of hours shooting and walking through the park with these great ladies (and my super helpful, chair toting, teenage son). Seriously, does work get any better than a walk through the park, camera in hand, a stunning young woman to photograph, and the perfect natural canvas in which to photograph her? I really don’t believe it does.
Okay, enough typing… on to what you’re really here for.

Enjoy the preview!

This morning I had the pleasure of photographing my neighbors beautiful baby boy. He is so sweet and tiny and perfect… As infants generally are! This little guy is 6 weeks old and cooperated wonderfully, napping through nearly all of my handling. What a sweetheart!

Enjoy Mom and Dad!

What could possibly be better than a perfectly beautiful 3 month old little princess?

A sleeping beauty perhaps?

Or how about 2? :)

What a pleasure it was to photograph babies Olivia and Emma this afternoon. Such precious little girls….

Last week I was able to photograph some of my very favorite people (that aren’t my own kids!). My wonderful best friend brought her family in for some christmas photos. These kids have the most big beautiful blue eyes, I swear! I know they’ve been anxiously waiting to see if this session was fruitful (yup, I was a blog slacker), so here they are…..

What do you think, fruitful?
(me? definitely!)

And the parents of the gorgeous kids. :) They’re lovely too.

sweet….sweet….sweet.

Three beautiful sisters in the studio this week. We had hoped to do this session in the park, but in October, suitable weather can definitely be hit or miss. This day was a miss! We’ve had some really cold days lately. I have turned on the fireplace a few times but haven’t brought myself to using the furnace yet. That looks like it’ll come soon enough! I have put away the flip flops though. Wow, does it feel weird to wear socks after a log summer without them. :) Hope you each enjoy a wonderful weekend. Happy Halloween!

And, on to the girls…… Enjoy!

I can’t seem to get enough of these fab 2009 seniors. They’re gorgeous and better yet, they do just what I ask!
Today brought another such session and along with it, the rain. We weren’t to be deterred though. He rushed to get ready and came about 4 hours early in hopes of beating the rain. All was well and the drops started falling as we got our last shots!

Enjoy….

A great way to end the weekend with another fabulous 2009 senior!

Enjoy. :)

I had a great time tonight photographing this talented senior.
We started off at the movie theater, taking advantage of their lobby piano.

Then headed down to the beach for some outdoor shots.

We finished up with a few traditional shots in the studio.

Thank you myYearbook.com!

Like many other families, the children in our household have discovered the wonders of facebookmyspace, and even something new to me, myYearbook. Now with any of these online social networks comes the ability to post a picture of oneself to be shown along side your name in posts, updates, etc. I’ll get back to this in just a minute…..

Many family, friends and clients alike will say to me, “You must have so many wonderful pictures of your kids!” To this my reply would be, “Well, no, not quite.” You see, I am blessed to have some amazing portraits of my children, but its the *so many* part that might be stretching it a bit. Don’t get me wrong here, I LOVE to have portraits of my kids. I do find them to be some of the most perfectly beautiful humans on the planet. I mean, can you blaim me? They just don’t love it quite as much as I do. I can’t see why, but there is no reading the minds of children. They simply won’t have it.

Okay, back to social networking via the worldwide web….. A couple days ago my 12 yr old son Jason aproached me with a request that just sang in my ears. “Mom, could you take a new picture of me for myyearbook?” I almost had him repeat it, but there was no time. I needed to act quickly before he changed his mind! So, outside we went into the gloom on a quite dreary Sunday evening to snap a few pictures.

Now to my utter joy and astonishment, he came back for more. Could this be? It was like a dream. It was the very next day that he was back. I tried to stifle my own overwhelming delight, really I did. This time we headed into the studio for something a little different.

Just call me selfless….I’m willing to be used in the name of myYearbook any day!
